Magic Mike, Good German were more peaceful, softer than The Side Effect.
I have not
guessing Steven Soderbergh will make a femma fatale-film noir till see The Side
Effect. Two bad women were arrested, one good man (Despite prison) is murdered
and one other man (Good doctor, good husband and good adoptive father) was
cheated.
Psychology,
psychiatry, therapy and drugs are not full innocent. But people who trust all
this processes don’t like the movie.
I hoped story
of a woman who between two men. I hoped some psychological tension. But someone
murdered others for conspiracies and someone makes big moneys, so?
Soderbergh used
to tell criticism of system with appearing of basic. But now, not only some sick
people or doctors but although all therapy studies are accused. This is not
style of Soderbergh. I think Ken Loach
wouldn’t make this movie, too.
Sick woman
who murdered husband misses father since her childhood. Or her old therapist
claims that to doctor that (Jude Law). Doctor is successful in carrier and he
is happy with wife he has a son (Adoptive), he is a good father.
Being of
good father of doctor coincide with claim of lived fatherless childhood for
sick woman. Woman who seeks a good father
in relation with her doctor (Law) is a liar. Doctor is a good father and problems
of woman are not sourced by fatherless.
Casting was
telling us strategy of movie is around Jude Law. Yes we will watch a
psychiatrist problems. Yes we witnessed all dirtiness of private insurance in USA
