One Direction, Beatles and Walter Benjamin

I don’t like Beatles, although don’t like John Lennon, too.  When I was child or teenage their songs were like pre-school jingles.

Lately I have watched a documentary about Beatles, I hate them now.

One Direction group follows Beatles road and yes they are successful commercially but when I saw them on TV I zapped. Who wanna see 5 boys in stages? Spice Girls and others 90’s groups, do you remember them?

What is the line of One Direction group? I don’t know and I don’t wonder. If someone made film I’ll watch but now nothings much more than news about them: they are gay or not, what they are doing before or after concerts etc.

Beatles was just money machine. They care only about money and their songs were just party songs.

When I read Slash (Old member of Guns’n Roses) interviews about 20 years ago I enjoyed. Because I knew new codes of marginal characters. If Slash and Axle shared their girlfriend each other or didn’t, why Axle didn’t like Slash, why Slash didn’t show himself face, etc.

But One Direction has only an ascription: Walter Benjamin. This great German intellectual and name of One Direction is common. One Direction is Benjamin’s book name. But I wonder members of One Direction read this book.

My only characteristic music group which alive and daily is Cold Play. I like them.
